Celebrity Cruise Lines-The Lap Of Luxury

Welcome aboard the fabulous Celebrity Cruise Lines. This grand and beautiful cruise line was established in 1989 by the Chandres family. Although this cruise line is still fairly new, the Chandres family has been in the ship and cruise line industry for many years. Royal Caribbean bought Celebrity Cruise Line in 1997 however, the two still operate separately. Let us look at some of the various points of this grand ship.

Fleet

The fleet of this grand company is relatively small with less than twelve ships in operation. They did release a new class of ships though in 2000 called the Millennium Line. Although these fleets are small, they offer the best in itineraries and luxuries as well as other features.

Size

These grand ships are large and can carry a whooping 1900 passengers at a time. The Zenith is the fleets smallest, which can still hold 1300 passengers, still quite a lot.

Departure Ports

There are several departure ports throughout the United Sates. Some of the more popular ports are located in Fort Lauderdale Florida, Miami Florida, and Galveston, Texas. Some of the other departure ports are in Puerto Rico, California, New Jersey and Washington. As you can see, Celebrity Cruise Lines have many convenient choices to fit your cruising needs.

Decor

As you walk through the magnificent ships, you will notice both a Modern and an Art Deco appeal. You will also notice classic touches of suede, muted colors, and polished woods. Their vast collection of art is one of the finest on the sea. With the new Millennium vessel, you will notice that they are rich in history. Especially in the dining rooms which are themed after former luxury liners. Two of the most popular themes are the Olympic theme (which was the sister ship of the Titanic) as well as the Normandie. These grand dining rooms also contain original artifacts that came out of these ships.

Onboard Activities

Celebrity Cruise Lines offer enrichment lectures. These lectures involve the areas of investment, history, photography and astronomy among others. They also provide computer classes, art auctions, cooking demonstrations and dance lessons just to name a few.

Dining

Their dining facilities are grand in appearance. They offer a wide variety of foods including health and vegetarian. Although the food is great, it does have a $30 cover charge, which is the most expensive at sea.

Entertainment

They offer a Vegas style revue for its main appeal. They also offer magicians, comedians, and harpists among others.

Spas & Fitness

Celebrity Cruise lines offer hydrotherapy, hot rock massage and Acupuncture. They also offer a Thalasso Therapy Pool. The ships have golf simulators, fitness centers and jogging tracks. You can also enjoy Aerobics for free or you can join in Pilate or Yoga for a small extra fee.
